Conservatives to be given bloody nose

CONSERVATIVES TO BE GIVEN BLOODY NOSE It could take the Tories more than a decade to recover

London – 3 July 20024

One thing is for certain, on 4 July Sikhs will contribute to give the Conservatives a bloody nose for reducing livings standards and making the UK a laughing stock on the world stage.

Under the watch of Rishi Sunak the Tories have chosen to demonise British Sikhs to appease the right-wing Indian government and failed to stand with the US, Canada, Australia and other western allies to confront India’s transnational repression.

There is little doubt Labour will form the next government and the electorate will decide who will be the official opposition. Tactical voting could help the Liberal Democrats become the second biggest party in terms of MPs, which would be a disaster for the Conservatives.

Strong support for Reform UK and half a dozen MPs, including Nigel Farage would complete the political antihalation of the Tories from which it may take more than a decade to recover. The Conservatives have chopped and changed their leaders and the party is split on its direction of travel.

The Greens will almost certainly have a bigger voice in Parliament with the election of both its co-leaders that have given their public support of all ten issues in the Sikh Manifesto.

Bhai Amrik Singh, the Chair of the Sikh Federation (UK) said: “We are hopeful of positive changes for the Sikh community with a Labour Government.”

“The vast majority of Sikhs will be voting for Labour candidates because of the specific assurances that have been given by the Labour leadership on a range of issues set out in the Sikh Manifesto.”

“However, there will also be tactical voting by Sikhs to help elect Liberal Democrat and Green MPs to ensure the Tories get a clear message.”

“We will maintain our pressure with direct local and national contact with members of the Cabinet and other Ministers.”

“There will also be dozens of new Labour MPs from areas where there are large numbers of Sikhs where we will expect positive feedback on progress with issues in the Sikh Manifesto.”

“The Indian government and media will play games to misrepresent the situation as we have seen in the run up to the General Election on Hinduphobia and extremism to which the Labour leadership has taken note.”

“Time will tell how far an incoming Labour Government will go to stand with British Sikhs on key issues of concern. We will know within 12-18 months whether the Labour leadership is true to its word.”

“Our political strategy will include not only having a positive relationship with the Labour Government, but also working closely with the Liberal Democrats, Greens and the SNP in opposition as well as Conservative MPs who have been supporting and are expected to retain their seats.”
