Brutal racist and sexual attack on British born Sikh woman in Oldbury
London – 11 September 2025
A British born Sikh woman in her 20s was sexually assaulted, raped and brutally beaten in a horrific racially and sexually motivated attack on Tuesday morning between 8.00-8.30am.
During the attack the perpetrators shouted at her: “you don’t belong in this country, get out.”
The police said they are keen to speak with anyone in the area on Tame Road in Oldbury who saw two men.
The men are described as being white, one had a shaved head, heavy build, and was reported to be wearing a dark coloured sweatshirt and had gloves on. The second man was reportedly wearing a grey top with a silver zip.
Sikh Youth UK has met and is supporting the victim and her family. They have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward to identify those responsible for this brutal racist and sexual attack.
Sikh Youth UK has alerted the wider community to remain vigilant, ensure family members are safe and strengthen safeguarding measures in daily routines.
Dabinderjit Singh OBE, the Lead Executive for Political Engagement at the Sikh Federation (UK) said: “The attack took place in broad daylight on a busy road where the local MP has his office.”
“We have reached out to Gurinder Singh Josan the MP for Smethwick to take urgent action, but have not yet had a response.”
“Politicians from all political parties should have zero tolerance for all violent racist attacks.”
“The current racist political environment is driven by popularism and created by politicians playing the “anti-immigration card’ who are unashamedly exploiting those with right-wing and racist views.”
“More than 48 hours later we await the public condemnation by politicians on all sides of this brutal racist and sexual attack where a young Sikh woman has been viciously beaten and raped.”
This serious racist attack on a young Sikh woman follows the recent attack on two elderly Sikh taxi drivers in Wolverhampton. Jatinder Singh, the President at Guru Nanak Gurdwara Smethwick has been in contact with Sikh Youth UK and will be hosting a public meeting about the racist incident.
