Dear [MPs name]

Briefing note on the Bloom Review’s controversial references to Gurdwaras and Sikh organisations

Please find attached a briefing note providing a detailed response to the Bloom Review’s controversial reference to Gurdwaras and Sikh organisations that was published last week. This should already have been emailed to you.

The briefing note challenges Colin Bloom’s approach and deliberate targeting of those who have legitimately challenged the UK Government since 2010 on a range of issues. It question’s Colin Bloom’s motivations as regards the disproportionate and negative focus on British Sikhs and rejects his personal opinions that ignore the ground reality of the law-abiding British Sikh community that all UK MPs will recognise.

Please write to Rt. Hon. Michael Gove and challenge the Bloom Review with respect to Gurdwaras and Sikh organisations that play such a vital role. I would appreciate if you could send me a copy of your letter and any response when received.

Sikhs are taking the debate on the arguments for the re-establishment of a Sikh homeland to the UK Parliament later this month. MPs will be asked to meet constituents at the mass lobby and to confirm if they have challenged the Bloom Review with regards to his controversial recommendations relating to British Sikhs.

MPs have already been copied the open letter sent to Rishi Sunak on 24 April 2023 by over 350 UK Gurdwaras and Sikh organisations. Gurdwaras, Sikh organisations and constituents will also want to know what their MPs have done in response.

Your sincerely,
